Step 4 The Tail
Tools to be
used: Wand
Load the
BlankTail.bmp file and use the Magic Wand to select the white areas – this
should select just about everything for the tail.
We have
highlighted the areas we now want to work with – We now need to darken the area
so that our colour retouch can take a richer effect. Select
Menu Item Colours – Adjust –
Brightness/Contrast – set the Brightness to –60 (minus
60) and the Contrast to 8 – click OK (we know it is -60
because 40 + 20 was what we had to use last time to get the area dark enough)
We
now need to place the yellow/orange stripes on the tail of the aircraft.
This can be achieved with three thick lines in yellow and a few lines in black
with a bit of fill to finish it off.
The Logo
Tools to be
used: Dropper
Using the Drooper tool – select an orange colour from the body area for use on
the logo.
We
will start with the bottom part of the image first.
Time to insert the black V within the Logo.
This will be very quick and easy.
Tools to be used: Line
To
finish off the black part of the logo we need to draw a few lines and a quick
couple of fills.
We
have completed one side of the tail with the logo we will now simply have to use
the Magic Wand to select the orange and black areas and paste it to the other
side of the tail.
Tools to be used: Wand
Select the Magic Wand tool and click on the orange and black areas of the logo
whilst holding down the SHIFT key.
The
last step is to copy the entire tail to be pasted over the master texture.
Select the Selection Tool and right click on the tail image (anywhere
will do) this will release the select on the logo. Now
using the Dropper Tool Right click on the Magenta area so that this is set as
the background colour.
Press CTRL C to copy the image. Go
back to the master texture image and press CTRL SHIFT E to paste with the
Magenta being transparent. Position
the new tail over the top of the existing white tail.
Your Bahamas-737.bmp file should now look like Figure 28:
Time to save again
Congratulations on completing your first texture paint task. I hope it was worth
the effort and that you are inspired now to create many more for all of the
simming community to enjoy.
Now go to Step 5 - so we can save and fly it Note: These pages and tutorial are copyright and are not to be reproduced in part or whole without my express permission. Please honour this expectation.
